Welcome to the Royal Oak

The Royal Oak Pub sits nicely on the corner of Royal Oak Avenue and Pleckgate Road, in Blackburn Lancashire.

Dating back to the year 1764, The Royal Oak has seen many generations of visitors, customers and families come through its doors to sample its generous menu of quality food and beers - but more recent generations know the Royal Oak for being a key “watering hole” on the famous Revidge Run!!

Sadly, the Revidge run is no more following the closure of most of the pubs on the run and the future looked bleak indeed for the Royal Oak itself when the brewery decided to close the doors and actually board up the Oak in the autumn of 2014. It was at this point that a small team of locals teamed up to rescue The Royal Oak and save it from extinction!

Following several weeks of hard work and many long hours of commitment, the Royal Oak reopened its doors on December 8th 2014. Customers were greeted with redecorated and refurbished lounge and bar areas which included new carpets, flooring, dining and seating configuration. The pub’s exterior was also the subject of new of a new colour scheme, lighting and signage programme.

The brighter and fresher indoor and outdoor appearance has been well received by both regular and new customers with a new log fire providing a warm and cosy finishing touch to the refurbishment project. The beer garden has also benefitted from new access, fencing and seating facilities. At the same time plenty of effort has been put in to ensure that the pub retains a lot of its 250 year old character, history and charm.

Today, The Royal Oak continues to buck the trend of pub closures by proving quality food, beers and service within a truly traditional local pub setting. The team of friendly, dedicated and professional staff is another “breath of fresh air” that has been well received by both regulars and new customers alike.

The Royal Oak’s reputation for serving delicious, quality, home cooked food continues to grow. Food is served 12.00pm till 8.00pm Thursday to Sunday with menus being updated on a regular basis. There is also a daily specials board to select from.

The bar offers a good selection of beers, lagers and cask ales together with red, white and Rose wines, spirits, bottled beers and soft drinks. So if you haven’t yet seen the newly refurbished Royal Oak please do so and sample our daily fare within a warm and friendly environment.

The pub is also available for special events, parties and functions. Please see contact details.

We look forward to seeing you!
